MXT News, May COVID update

Dear parents and swimmers,

We hope you are all keeping safe and well in these demanding times.

We are now looking to the future as to how we will be providing swimming lessons when we are advised by various organisations that this is safe to do so. Also we have been taking the time to refine our swimming method and improve our teaching exercises.

We will be adhering and enforcing social distancing, and limiting the number of swimmers in the pool per lesson, enabling teachers, parents and swimmers to remain safe. The changing rooms will be monitored, i.e. one in one out.

Until we are able to return to our usual way of teaching, with the teachers providing support in the water, we will only be able to provide lessons from the poolside and therefore will only be teaching swimmers who have achieved at least their 25 metre badge.

We would be grateful if you would kindly let us know if you would be interested in this, and as and when we can then sort a timetable out. Please note that this is only a provisional trial and will be reviewed on a daily basis. If we decide that the safety of anyone is compromised, this will be suspended. Alternatively, if it works out well, we may look at expanding the criteria. As with anything at present, things may change!

We understand that this is not the ideal scenario, but we can hopefully, in the future, begin to return to “normal”

Keep safe and well and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Chris and the team at MXT

P.S. On a positive note, Mario completed his 40K challenge swim just before the lockdown.
