Train to become a swimming teacher who is qualified to teach People with Disabilities.

Do you currently teach, or want to teach people with disabilities? You must be qualified to validate your insurance. This is currently the only regulated and CIMPSA endorsed Swimming Teacher qualification for People with Disabilities.

Teaching aquatic activities to people that may not be able to go swimming otherwise is an extremely rewarding and humbling experience. The People with Disabilities qualification is aimed at most types of disabilities including but not limited to; Autistic Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Sensory disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrom and more.

Swimming has amazing benefits for everyone, and even more so for those with disabilities. If you want to help People with Disabilities experience swimming in a safe environment, then this is the course for you.

Prerequisites

Before you get started you will need:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold current membership with the STA
  • Hold a valid Safety Award for Teachers
  • Hold a valid Safeguarding certificate

This is currently the only STA People with Disability course available in the South of England.
